CNC machining, molds and industrial maintenance

We design, build and maintain machinery for free trade zone companies in the Dominican Republic.

What we solve
Isometric travelling-column milling machine: a blue arm carries the head while the cutter traces the word MECNIX, cut into a steel plate, with sparks flying from the cut.

What's going on at your plant?

  1. A machine just stopped. We diagnose the fault, repair it and replace components at your plant.
  2. That part can't be found anymore. We measure it, rebuild its geometry and make it again.
  3. I have the drawing and need the parts.Turning, milling and CNC, one unit or a series.
  4. The mold no longer makes a good part.We repair it, modify it or build a new one.
  5. This process is still done by hand.We design and build the machine that automates it.
  6. I want to stop putting out fires.A monthly or annual contract with maintenance and permanent technical supervision.

Turning

Isometric CNC lathe: a three-jaw chuck holds a bar between the headstock and the tailstock, and an insert cuts it in successive passes into a stepped shaft.

The bar spins and the cutting edge advances: each pass leaves the diameter the drawing calls for.

Material
Spindle
1,528 rpm
Feed
306 mm/min
Cutting speed
240 m/min
Removal rate
72.0 cm³/min

n = 1000 · Vc / (π · D). Indicative starting values with a carbide insert: the actual process sheet depends on the tool, the workholding and the machine. Rotation is shown slowed down and feed sped up.

Milling

The cutter spins and the material moves beneath it to clear pockets, face surfaces and leave contours a lathe cannot reach.

Material
Spindle
6,366 rpm
Feed
2,037 mm/min
Cutting speed
240 m/min
Removal rate
36.7 cm³/min

n = 1000 · Vc / (π · D). Indicative starting values with a carbide insert: the actual process sheet depends on the tool, the workholding and the machine. Rotation is shown slowed down and feed sped up.

Isometric vertical machining center: a table with a vise holds a block of material while a four-flute end mill clears a pocket.

Molding

Sectioned injection mold in the clamping unit of a molding machine: plastic fills the cavity, the mold opens and the ejector pins push the part out.

We design, build, repair and modify molds and dies. In injection molding, wall thickness rules: cooling time grows with its square.

Resin
Cooling
– s
Clamping force
– t

t = s² / (π² · α) · ln(4/π · (Tm − Tw) / (Te − Tw)). Indicative datasheet values for the part shown. The cycle is sped up.

Finishing

Anodizing, Teflon coating and anticorrosion coatings decide how long a part lasts. In anodizing, thickness comes from current and time in the bath.

Time in bath
– min
Rectifier
– A
Anodizing line: tanks in a row and an overhead crane carrying a bar of aluminum parts from one bath to the next.

Rule of thumb for Type II sulfuric anodizing, about 0.33 µm per A/dm² per minute. Indicative values; bath time is sped up.

Diagnosing

Motor-pump set on a baseplate with an accelerometer on the bearing housing, connected to a portable analyzer showing the vibration spectrum.

Every fault leaves its signature on the spectrum. Reading it in time lets you plan the shutdown instead of suffering it.

Machine condition
Severity
– mm/s RMS
Shaft speed
– Hz

BPFO peaks with harmonics and ±1X sidebands: outer race defect.

A demonstration of how a spectrum is read, with illustrative amplitudes, not a measurement.

Isometric CNC lathe: a three-jaw chuck holds a bar and an insert cuts it in successive passes into a stepped shaft.

We work with free trade zones and manufacturers, from CAD design to on-site assistance.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to request a quote?

Choose the service and tell us what you need. If you have a drawing, a photo or a video, attach them to the request; if not, we can also start from the physical part or from the problem you want to solve.

Can I order a part if I do not have the drawing?

Yes. With reverse engineering we start from the existing part, take its measurements and rebuild its geometry so it can be made again.

Which files can I attach?

Drawings and models in PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP, IGES or SLDPRT, as well as photos and videos. The request accepts up to 4 MB in total; if your files are larger, send the request without them and we will arrange them later.

What is the difference between turning and milling?

In turning the part spins and the tool advances along it, so it suits shafts and bushings. In milling the tool spins and the material moves, so it suits flat faces, pockets and contours.

What is the difference between preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance?

Preventive follows a schedule, corrective repairs a fault that has already happened, and predictive measures the condition of the machine, for example with vibration analysis, in order to act before it fails.

Do you offer maintenance contracts?

Yes, monthly or annual, along with a rapid response team, permanent technical supervision and specialized on-site assistance.
