Open injection mold in the clamping unit of a molding machine, with the plastic part pushed out by the ejector pins.

How it works

An injection mold is two halves that clamp with force against molten plastic: the cavity gives the outer shape and the core the inner one. Cooling channels remove the heat, and ejector pins push the part out when the mold opens.

Wall thickness rules the cycle, because cooling time grows with its square. That is why the conversation about a mold starts with the part, not the steel. A production mold also wears, and repairing or modifying it in time avoids rejects and stoppages.

What is included

  • Design and manufacture of industrial moldsFrom the part geometry to the finished mold.
  • Molds for injection and special processesAccording to the material and the process on your line.

  • Mold repair and modificationTo recover a damaged mold or adapt it to a part change.
  • Preventive and corrective mold maintenanceCleaning, inspection and correction of wear.

Frequently asked questions

Do you also repair molds, or only build them?

We do both: design and manufacture, and also repair, modification, and preventive and corrective maintenance.

What does the cycle time of an injection mold depend on?

Mostly on cooling, which grows with the square of the part's wall thickness and depends on the resin and on the melt, mold and ejection temperatures.
